This morning I went for a wander around Punta Arenas and somehow ended up in a church service singing “O Come All Ye Faithful” in Spanish. I began by attempting to lip read, but by the end I had become so absorbed in the Christmas spirit that I heartily sang it out in English. The locals seemed to find this rather amusing.

A local belief is that if you kiss the toe of a certain statue in town you will return to Punta Arenas in the future. I gave this a go and so if all goes to plan I will be back here infour weeks!
